Where the old myths still breathe
A hidden school on a small Aegean island. Students with inherited gifts they didn't ask for. A curriculum built from the mythological record — and the artifacts are real.

Hidden among the rocky Aegean islands, the Academy has stood for centuries — older than the charts that don't show it, older than the families who send their children there. Each student arrives carrying an inheritance: a fragment of power passed down through bloodlines that stretch back to the age of myth.
But the curriculum isn't theory. The Academy sends its students to earn the artifacts — the genuine articles. The Golden Fleece. Ariadne's Thread. The bag of winds Aeolus pressed into Odysseus' hands at the world's edge. Each book is a quest. Each quest changes the person who survives it.
The World
The myths didn't end. They went to school.
A hidden institution tucked into a cliff-faced island in the southern Aegean — the kind of place you only find if you were always going to find it. Stone halls that remember older names. Libraries that argue back.
The students didn't earn their abilities — they inherited them, diluted and unpredictable, through bloodlines wound tight with myth. A gift for finding things. A voice that compels. Fire that will not quite obey. The Academy exists to teach them what to do with it.
The mythological record is the curriculum. The Golden Fleece, Ariadne's Thread, the Bag of Winds — the artifacts are real, and they are not in a museum. Each year, a cohort earns the right to try to bring one back.
"The old world didn't disappear when people stopped believing in it. It simply found somewhere quieter to exist — and put up a gate."

Niko Crane writes fantasy rooted in the deep mythology of the ancient Mediterranean — stories that treat the old myths not as decoration but as engine. The Aegean Academy series is his debut fiction project.
He is currently at work on Book One — a quest for the Golden Fleece told through the eyes of students who didn't realize, until it was too late, that the quest was also the exam.
More information on the series, release dates, and news from the Academy will be posted here as the manuscript makes its way into the world.
